Meaning:
A personification of the moral sense of right and wrong, usually in the form of a person, a being or merely a voice that gives moral lessons and advises.
The sense or consciousness of the moral goodness or blameworthiness of one's own conduct, intentions or character together with a feeling of obligation to do right or be good.
Looking into our subconscious mind, there is one thing that always justifies our right or wrong intentions. Your Conscience is the immediate judge to condemn or encourage an action. God gave every human a conscience (guiding system) as a gift; to help us do the right thing.
Not all of us are connected to this guiding system. We often disobey the inward sense or early warning of a bad end and rather take the risk of experiencing the wrong thing, thereby causing us great tragedy and mistakes.
How do we sense our conscience?
For a highly spiritual person or someone who understands God's Laws and commandments, it can never be difficult to know what your conscience is active. There is a prompt rejection to bad thoughts or evil intentions considering the implications and how it would affect a life.
For an ordinary person, it is still possible to sense your conscience through your values and good character especially when a thought or act is contrary to your belief.
A proper action leaves us with a happy and satisfied feeling. An improper action can disturb us so that we realize it's impropriety.
Can our conscience stop working?
This simply asks if our heart can stop working, our eyes can stop seeing or our ears can go deaf???
When your heart begins to reject good morals, it means you have become Heartless;
When you can no longer see things with a positive attitude or good intention, it means you have become Blind;
When you no longer pay attention to other people's feelings but yourself, then you have become Deaf.
With the absence of the heart, eyes and ears... your conscience can never be active.
It is important to make our Conscience work properly for us. Start by paying attention to the Holy Book, inspirational quotes, success stories, teachings and moral lessons. It goes a long way to help us eradicate disasters, abuse and terrorism; when we train ourselves and share our good intentions for others to learn from us.
