The MIND is a living soul that should be nursed every day of our lives. It controls, directs, instructs, guides, leads and basically evaluates our purpose of existence in Life.
Ability for rational thoughts
We simply lie to ourselves when we say our thoughts cannot be controlled. As humans, there are certain behavior and principles that should govern our thoughts such as integrity, reliability, accountability, trust, dependability etc; they are the strategic needles that helps us control our thoughts positively and to doing the right thing.
Ability to be aware of things
It is possible to be OBLIVIOUS of certain situations or things around you at a moment of happiness or sorrow. This happens when your mind is being controlled by that circumstances, not allowing you to pay attention to most important thoughts or activities.
Ability to remember things
This is simply called the "subconscious": that thing which helps to trigger your thoughts to doing things or being reminded. There is nothing in this world that helps us forget memories or past events in our lives, unless we medically seek to wipe it out.
Intellect is one of man's greatest powers. Our intellect is the subconscious the helps remember things purposefully.
Ability to focus on thoughts
It is one thing to have certain thoughts and another is to concentrate or be determined to let it happen. We have our dreams and aspirations that we desire to make happen. What is that one thing that makes us stick to our goals? FOCUS! Of course there are distractions, it is how you handle them that matters most. Your response to distractions will either influence your goals positively or negatively.
Embodiment of certain mental qualities
The qualities you have definitely confirms your sanity and mental state in whatever you do in Life but Not to dispute the fact that you can be medically affected with your thoughts. Whatever you choose to keep in your mind stays unconditionally. You are the architect of your thoughts. It is possible to be discouraged or inspired but which do you keep in mind???
State of Judgement
As religious as this may sound, it is still a challenge for the mind. We often forget humans cannot be GOD. The more reason why our thoughts, opinions and views should be weighed compared to others. What seems right to you might be seen in another light by someone else.
This defines what is called "PARADIGM SHIFT": Paradigms are powerful because they create the lens through which we see the world. The power of a paradigm shift is the essential power of quantum change, whether that shift is an instantaneous or a slow and deliberate process.
Seeking Thoughts
We have our desires and expectations but individually, there is an intentional act that drives us to meeting such desires. It is more like stretching your hands to receive a gift. Whatever drops in your hands or you receive is a reflection of the value seen by the giver. How do you ascertain the right values? This is a topic that will be addressed another time.
A Healthy Mental State (In Conclusion)
To constantly validate our mind, it is necessary to maintain a healthy state of mind. Regardless of whether being affected medically or not, there are ways to control your thoughts and ensure they are not influenced by circumstances of life or other factors.
